Synopsis: Filmed in the Ecuadorian cloud forest, Malcolm Rogge’s powerful documentary film, “The Tribunal,” brings to light the disturbing impacts on local environmental defenders of the shadowy international investment arbitration system (ISDS). 

Event Details: 
Screening of “The Tribunal” and discussion with Director Malcolm Rogge, Exeter Law School and Gabriela P. Garcia Garcia, lecturer in Security Studies at Exeter. Moderated by Ernesto Schwartz-Marin, Assistant Director of the University of Exeter’s Global Systems Institute.

The Tribunal is a “tour de force” which shows all of the important points about investment law and human rights in only thirty minutes. Movies of this kind are great tools to help our students understand the challenges that we are facing in trying to reconcile investment law and human rights.
