Amazing work experience opportunities

There are some incredible opportunities you can apply for through the CareerZone. Known as the Global Leaders Experience, it offers a unique opportunity to develop your intercultural skills as part of a short, outbound mobility experience. Typically a week in duration and covering themes such as sustainability, human rights and digital heritage. You will travel to a significant city or location outside of the UK and be immersed in the local environment, presented with real-world challenges and work closely with a diverse range of other students and professionals. Tunisia: 14-24 April 2025

Centred on the theme of sustainability, this Global Leaders Experience provides a unique insight into sustainability and the climate crisis guided by those working in communities and authorities in Tunisia.

The Hague: 20-26 April 2025

Embark on a transformative journey with the Hague Global Leaders Experience, a unique programme designed to immerse you in the “international city of peace and justice.” This April, join a vibrant group of like-minded students as you delve into the pressing theme of climate justice.

Paris & Bonn: 1-7 June 2025

We are once again partnering with UNITAR (United Nations Institute of Training and Research) to run a 5-day immersive programme focused on key themes and significant locations within the United Nations in the stunning locations of Paris and Bonn.

Gothenburg: 6-13 September 2025

The 2025 EAIE theme encapsulates a call-to-action that encompasses all types of creative activities in the way individuals work with students and other key stakeholders, enrich international and intercultural learning experiences, strengthen partnerships and more.

Eligibility Criteria   

  • You will be enrolled as an undergraduate student at the time of the programme    
  • Students must meet one or more of the Widening Participation Criteria.
  • You can travel to and from the UK between the dates specified  
  • Not currently on a placement year or study abroad  
  • Have an up-to-date passport with more than 6 months validity from date of return   
  • Have not exceeded the 90 out of 180 days rule for travel in Europe by the date of the programme. If you are unsure of this please use this calculator.
