Two Mooting Opportunities: European Law and Human Rights

European Law Moot Court Competition 2025/26

(Applicants will need to be an LLM student or in the final year of their LLB.)

Do you want to showcase your advocacy skills on the biggest stage in EU law?

This is a unique opportunity for you to:

  • Enhance your knowledge of EU law.
  • Develop world-class written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Represent the University of Exeter on an international stage.
  • Strengthen your CV.

Students will be coached by two former Regional Champions.

About the Competition

Teams of three students prepare written pleadings on an EU law case. The best teams progress to the European Final at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, where they will plead before CJEU judges.

Human Rights Moot

Register for the opportunity to take part in theĀ Junior Lawyers Committee’sĀ annual human rights moot competition, organised by the Junior Lawyers Committee. You’ll have the chance to argue in front of eminent practitioners and members of the judiciary, to sharpen your written and oral advocacy, and fuel those all-important applications for training contracts and pupillage by showing a real interest in human rights. Finalists will have the experience of appearing in the Royal Courts of Justice (RCJ) and battling it out over fascinating topical issues in human rights law.

The Competition Timetable

  • Sign up by Tuesday 30 September 2025
  • Problem released: October 2025
  • Deadline for skeleton arguments: November 2025
  • Semi-finals: December 2025
  • Grand Final: January 15th 2026
