23 September 2025An introduction from Summer Halton:
As the Aspiring Solicitors (AS) Campus Ambassador for Exeter this year, I’m aiming to connect students with the opportunities, resources, and networks that AS provides to help diversify access to the legal profession.
Aspiring Solicitors is dedicated to improving diversity and inclusion within law by working closely with leading firms and in-house legal teams to support students from underrepresented backgrounds. Through mentoring, skills workshops and networking opportunities.
This year, I’ll be your first point of contact for all things Aspiring Solicitors. That means keeping students updated on upcoming events, sharing application tips, and making sure you know how to get involved with AS programmes. Whether you’re looking for support with training contract applications, insight into the profession, or just want to learn more about how AS can help you improve your career.
I’ll be sharing updates on my LinkedIn page: www.linkedin.com/in/summer-halton-913865257
But also feel free to reach out to me directly if you’d like tailored advice or simply just a chat about what AS is and how to get started. Feel free to email me at: sjh296@exeter.ac.uk
I aim to make sure that students feel fully supported and confident when engaging with the profession, while highlighting the important work that AS does and the importance of diversity in shaping the future of the profession.
