14 October 2026On 4th June 2026, Exeter Law School hosted a meeting of the Economic and Social Rights Academic Network (ESRAN) for UK and Ireland. The one-day event was hosted by Dr David Barrett, a senior lecturer in the Law School, and was attended by academics from across the UK and Ireland.
Working papers were presented by participants from a range of career stages on a broad range of economic and social rights topics that drew on a broad range of methodologies. As part of the event Dr Barrett presented the overall arguments of his forthcoming book, Regulating Socio-Economic Inequality: Utilising a Human Rights and Equality Law Framework, which will be published by Hart in early 2027. All presenters received high-quality feedback on their work and enjoyed friendly Devon hospitality.
