With the 2025-26 academic term coming to an end, we wanted to reflect on the findings from this year’s Public Engagement with Research drop-in programme. This blog breaks down these sessions into key findings researchers can use in their public engagement work.

The Public Engagement with Research team sits within the University’s Regional Engagement group, contributing to its work on policy outreach, Civic University Agreements, and community collaboration. But why are these activities so essential for our region? 

The University’s Public Engagement Strategic Advisory Group (PEG) has launched a short video series, highlighting the valuable public engagement work taking place around the University, and the benefits of community collaboration both for researchers, and for the audiences they engage.

Working with artists and creatives forms an important part of our work in Public Engagement with Research. Whether it’s celebrating Exeter’s murals, or offering training on creative approaches to research, art forms a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academia and local communities.
