Good morning everyone! We’re another month down and before we know it we’ll be in 2022! With the clocks going back it feels like winter is really on its way. In today’s blog we’re looking ahead a bit for postgraduate students arriving in January and for those wanting to attend one of our online open days. As well as these we thought we’d discuss a few goings on around campus too!

January 2022

For those of you who are studying a January starter postgraduate course, our applications are open with a guarantee deadline of the 30th November. If you apply after the 30th November we may not be able to offer you accommodation due to the high demand for rooms. We will be starting to process all January starter applications shortly. You should hear from December onwards.

To apply, please see our dedicated webpage for help.

 Postgraduate Online Open Day

Whilst we are planning to start our in-person open days and offer holder visit days in the new year, our postgraduate open day will be taking place on Tuesday 16th November.

There are two sessions to attend which run between:
9:00-12:00
or
17:00-20:00
Please book your place online to attend.

We will have a live chat booth running throughout the online open days. We would encourage you to use these as an opportunity to ask any questions about Accommodation in Exeter as you would at an in-person open day. There’s no such thing as a stupid question and if we can’t help then we can direct you to someone that can!

We hope that you can get as much out of your day as possible and please do not hesitate to get in contact with us for any other queries.

Events:

Bonfire Night: “Remember, remember the 5th of November” (as it’s tomorrow!) There’s nothing more Autumnal than bonfires, hot drinks and fireworks. There are events going on across Exeter and the surrounding areas, take a look at the visit Exeter website for inspiration! As always, have a great time and be careful!

Diwali: Each year the University celebrates Diwali, the festival of light with some spectacular (and very colourful!) celebrations. Join us on Sunday 14th November for our Diwali Celebrations organised with University of Exeter Asian and Hindu Society. The celebrations will take place from 2:30 to 7pm at The Forum. The parade to the fireworks will start at 6:15pm, and they will begin at 6:45pm outside the XFI building

Residence life events:
Our residence life team are still offering regular social events for all students. These involve regular coffee catch ups, baking evenings in residences and quiz nights! Check the residence life calendar on our webpage for more information.

Have a lovely week everyone, thank you for reading todays blog and please feel free to contact us with any queries you may have.
