We hope you’ve had a good week. This weeks blog will be looking at our residence locations. Whilst Exeter is a small enough city that it doesn’t really matter where you choose to live, we thought we’d give you some insight about the locations.
StreathamĀ
Streatham is our larger campus where the majority of our Exeter students will study.Ā All catered accommodation is based here. On the West side of campus you will find Birks Grange Village (self-catered and catered), Moberly and Duryard.
This side of campus is also home to Holland Hall, Mardon Hall,Ā Nash Grove and Clydesdale rise/court which are also our closest residences to Streatham sports park. This side of campus is also close to Exeter St Davids, the main train station of the city which has excellent travel connections to the rest of the country. We have some residences in this area (St Davids, Cook and Llewellyn mews) which are just 10 minutes walk from Streatham campus, with a regular shuttle bus from the station to the top of campus.
The East side of campus is home to Lafrowda, Rowe and St Germans and our new residences East Park and Spreytonway, this area is great for walking in to the city centre and is about a 20 minute walk from St Lukes. Our Exeter halls residences, which includes Lopes, Pennsylvania court and Ransom Pickard can be found nestled behind Lafrowda with tennis courts and some lovely outdoor areas.
St Lukes
St Lukes campus is where most medical and teaching students will be based. Many of the students studying at St Lukes tend to live in one of our residences closer to this campus. Our Rowancroft residences which includeĀ RowancroftĀ ,Ā Rowancroft CourtĀ andĀ Rowancroft MewsĀ are only a five minute walk to St Lukeās and are close to the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital which is useful for those studying medicine. Nancherrow is located right next to St Lukes or approximately 30 minutesā walk to the Streatham Campus.
St Lukes Campus has its own eating , sports facilities and swimming pool so you may find that you do not need to move between the two campuses often.
Everything in between
There are many private accommodation providers around Exeter, you may wish to see our webpage about private accommodation options where you can look into getting a room in a purpose built student residence. Many of these are located in and around the city centre and therefore it is easy to walk to either St Lukes or Streatham from them. Our residenceĀ James Owen CourtĀ is found in the city centre and are only twenty five minutes walk to Streatham and twenty minutesā walk to St Lukeās.
Remember that you are not obliged to live where you will be studying, Exeter is a small city where everything is walk-able. There is a shuttlebus that regularly goes between the two campuses and public transport options to get you to and fro. Thanks for reading todays blog and have a lovely week!
