    Nuclear Societies Research Group

We are an interdisiplinary research group
interested in nuclear energy and nuclear waste management as sociotechnical matters.

    We undertake grants,
collaborate with technical groups, and organise regular workshops and events.

    We are based at the
    University of Exeter,
with affiliates from the universities of Liverpool and Bristol.

Nuclear Societies was initiated in 2013 as an ESRC-funded PhD initiative by Professor Susan Molyneux-Hodgson. Since then, it has evolved and grown. Today, the current cohort of doctoral researchers are funded by the UK’s Nuclear Waste Services and the University of Exeter. The Nuclear Societies Research Group is associated with SHARE (Social Sciences and Humanities in Ionising Radiation Research).
