Nuclear Societies Research Group
Susan’s research is in the field of Science and Technology Studies and has an overarching concern with the everyday enactment of scientific work, particularly in the physical sciences and engineering. Her current interests are focussed on two domains of scientific activity: 1) synthetic biology / industrial biotechnology and 2) radioactive waste management and disposal.
Susan established the Nuclear Societies programme in 2013, which first began as an ESRC-funded PhD initiative and then grew into the research group it is today.
