ML and EAL Seminar

Seminar Day 5 on Monday 24th April with be exploring ML within the National Curriculum in the morning and considerations for EAL provision in the afternoon.

ML objectives:

To provide an introduction to the new National Curriculum for Primary Languages.
To understand how languages can be integrated into the primary curriculum.
To experience some practical examples of learning (doing a lot with a small amount of language).
To consider the relationship between L1 and L2 learning.
To consider the importance of intercultural understanding

EAL objectives:

Exploring an inclusive pedagogy through:
Teachers’ inclusive attitudes
Academic inclusion
Linguistic inclusion
Social inclusion
Investigation into the Bell Foundation ‘Great Ideas’ for strategies when planning
