  • SHARE – Saving Halberton’s Ancient Roman Environment

Welcome! SHARE (Saving Halberton’s Ancient Roman Environment) is a project that aims to rescue an important Roman villa complex near Halberton, Devon, by excavation and recording, before it is further damaged by ploughing. These excavations are part of a five-year (2025-2030) community project that will share the archaeological discoveries and involve local people in the research.

SHARE is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we will be able to inspire and bring social benefit to local people by involving them in archaeology, through a volunteer programme, open days and events, workshops for those with mental health difficulties and an education programme.
