NIHR Three Schools Prevention Career Development Awards have been won by Dr Gemma Brailey and Dr Jessica Armitage for their individual public health research projects. Gemma is currently PI on a SPHERE project focussing on farmers’ access to preventative health services in rural areas, funded by the Three Schools Prevention programme, and the CDA will enable her to continue this vital research. Jessica’s project will focus on smartphone use and mental health among young people; specifically, the effects of school-wide interventions (to reduce smartphone screen time) on child and adolescent mental health.
