The Press Justice Project was launched in 2023 in the House of Lords. The Project, founded and chaired by Stephen Kinsella OBE, advises members of the public affected by press abuse and guides them through the complaints-handling processes which exist. The Press Justice Project also educates the next generation of journalists about press standards with guest lectures at universities, raise awareness among the public and civil society about press standards, and campaign on behalf of individuals affected by press wrongdoing for a more accountable press. In this 2-hour workshop, Nathan Sparkes (CEO, Hacked Off & Press Justice Project) will cover the Leveson Inquiry, debates around press regulation, the public impacts of low standards in the press, and some ethical newsroom dilemmas for students to reflect on. This workshop is open to all current students from across the HASS faculty at the University of Exeter.
