This masterclass event welcomes Sam McAlister, Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), who teaches the next generation of leaders how to negotiate with confidence and authority.
Sam McAlister is an Emmy and BAFTA-nominated producer, TEDx speaker, former criminal barrister, and mastermind behind the BBC Newsnight Prince Andrew interview. In her workshops and keynotes, Sam reveals powerful lessons in negotiation, influence, and storytelling. She equips organizations with strategies to win high-stakes conversations and thrive under pressure.
Sam McAlister is a master negotiator, Emmy and BAFTA-nominated producer, and the driving force behind some of the most talked-about interviews in modern history. Best known as the woman who secured the BBC’s explosive interview with Prince Andrew, she has also negotiated with global power players from President Clinton and Prime Minister Trudeau to Elon Musk, Sheryl Sandberg, and leaders at Buckingham Palace and the White House. Sam’s expertise lies in high-stakes negotiation, communication under pressure, and the art of influence, skills that resonate deeply with today’s organizations navigating complex business environments. Her bestselling book ‘Scoops’ was transformed into the Netflix hit ‘Scoop’, where she served as Executive Producer. The film became an international success, further cementing her reputation as a leading voice in negotiation and storytelling. In her public keynote event, which will follow the workshop (click here to register), Sam translates these lessons into practical strategies that empower executives, teams, and organisations to secure better deals, manage crises, and thrive in media-driven environments.
This workshop is open to all current students of the University of Exeter Law School and is made possible with the generous support of the Alumni Annual Fund. If you register and are then unable to attend, you are required to provide 24 hours notice in writing so that your place can be offered to another student. Thank you for your understanding.
