Dr Louise Loder

Director of Employability

Louise is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Director of Employability at the University of Exeter Law School. She is Vice-Chair of the Human Rights Lawyers Association, Vice-Chair of the Learning & Development Committee at the Devon & Somerset Law Society, Legal & Education Training Lead at the Bar Human Rights Committee of England & Wales, and an Executive Committee Member of the Association of Law Teachers. She has convened / taught Legal Foundations, Legal Research & Writing, Technology & Human Rights, Business & Human Rights, Criminal Law, Constitutional & Administrative Law, and Intellectual Property Law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Previously, she has consulted as a subject matter expert for rule of law and legal education projects, reports and training platforms, and has served in senior governance advisory roles for NGOs managing Board and Executive Committee communications, reporting, stakeholder engagement and advocacy on human rights, social justice and sustainability issues. Louise was awarded the Global Women Innovators Network Award in 2024 for Exceptional Creativity in IP Education and was recognised in the 2026 Women Who Will list of trailblazing women in law organised by the Next 100 Years campaign. Louise is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and in 2026, was appointed an inaugural Google Higher Education AI Fellow.
