GLOBAL RESILIENCE LIBRARY

This is an INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVE TO GATHER RESILIENCE TOOLS ACROSS CULTURES AND CONTEXTS

We use the neuro-affective model of resilience (Tabinia, 2020) as a scaffolding. This is a multilevel model with neuro-scientific evidence supporting it.

As quick examples of what is emerging in each of the categories:

To down-regulate the negative: my trainees in Kenya (leaders, guards and prisoners) talk about the benefit of the radio technique; in Congo, they have developed what they call comparative techniques, which are transforming the mindset of war refugees.

To up-regulate the positive my collaborator from Colombia talks about techniques that have to do with music and dance.  And she has interviewed displacement survivors that speak about the power of connecting to the Earth, who they call “Madre Tierra”.

To engage in self-transcendence techniques, a colleague from the NHS talks about finding awe in nature, and indigenous people from South America have some practices near a river.
