Outreach and Impact
This project is designed to produce actionable science to address the risk of increasing wildfire, climate change, and forest degradation in Amazonia. We will synthesise our data to estimate the regional SOC flux and identify land management practices that enhance soil carbon sequestration.
We will engage directly with stakeholders and partners in Brazil, including government agencies, NGOs, and local land managers, to communicate our findings. The goal is to provide the scientific evidence needed to inform climate mitigation targets, including Brazil’s Paris Accord commitments and 2060 C neutrality goal.
