    Law and Business Employability Panel & Networking Reception: In Celebration of Black History Month (13 October 2026)

    The University of Exeter Law School is delighted to be hosting a very special panel discussion and networking event in celebration of Black History Month on Tuesday 13 October in The Deck (Innovation Centre, Streatham Campus). Hosted by Dr Louise Loder, Dr Swati Gola and Tess Read from the Law School, and moderated by Rose Arhin, Communities and Equality Officer at Exeter Students’ Guild, the panel will welcome the following guest speakers from business and law:

    Paul Brown-Bampoe, Player at Exeter Chiefs & Co-Founder of the successful ‘No Rucks Given’ rugby podcast

    Benitia Knowles-Wright, Family Law Senior Associate, Stephens Scown and alumni of Exeter Law School

    Ikenna Henry Onyebuchi, Solicitor, Addleshaw Goddard LLP and alumni of Exeter Law School

    Our speakers will share their personal career journeys and challenges of inclusion and belonging within law, business and wider professional environments, as well as strategies for navigating these barriers and their best advice for developing key employability skills for career growth. The panel will be followed by student Q&A and catered networking for speakers and students in celebration of Black History Month.

    This event is open to all current students of the University of Exeter Law School and Business School. If you register and are then unable to attend, you are required to provide 24 hours notice in writing to Dr Loder so that your place can be offered to another student. Thank you for your understanding.

    Our Speakers

    MODERATOR | Rose Arhin, Communities and Equality Officer at Exeter Students’ Guild

    Rose Arhin is a final-year Law student at the University of Exeter, passionate about creating a stronger sense of belonging for Black students and underrepresented communities within higher education. Through her work with the Students’ Guild and the University of Exeter, Rose has helped develop projects and policies aimed at making university life more inclusive and representative. Her work includes initiatives such as the inclusive hair project and efforts to diversify food options on campus, creating spaces and services that better reflect and support the diverse student community.

    Paul Brown-Bampoe, Professional Rugby Player at Exeter Chiefs & Co-Founder of the successful ‘No Rucks Given’ rugby podcast

    Paul Brown-Bampoe is an exciting young talent who joined up with the squad during the 2023/24 season. A hot-footed winger, the 22-year-old was looking to develop in the Chiefs set-up and progress into the first team at Sandy Park. He got his first opportunity at the outset of the 2024/25 season and never looked back. He finished the season as one of the Chiefs top try-scorers having made his club debut in all competitions – the PREM, the Investec Champions Cup and the PREM Rugby Cup. Having represented England Counties U18s, England Students and England 7s he is a talent that many people have their eyes on as one to watch for the future. Paul is the co-founder of the hugely successful ‘No Rucks Given’ rugby podcast, and lives in Exeter.

    Benitia Knowles-Wright, Family Law Senior Associate, Stephens Scown and alumni of Exeter Law School

    Benitia is a Senior Associate in our Family team, dealing with the resolution of financial matters on the breakdown of marriage and civil partnerships, as well as private law disputes regarding children and injunctive relief. Benitia completed a Law Degree at University of Exeter, Master of Law from University of Law and qualified as a solicitor in Wiltshire in September 2017. She later relocated to Devon and joined Stephens Scown in January 2022. Benitia’s specialism is assisting vulnerable clients to navigate the separation process. This includes spouses leaving domestically abusive relationships and clients with neurodivergent needs. She has advised on issues involving pensions, trusts, companies, pre-acquired assets and allegations of abuse. Her clients include those who are employed, self-employed, business owners and those who are full-time parents including grandparents. Benitia is also a member of Resolution, an organisation of family law professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. She sits on the Devon Resolution Committee.

    Ikenna Henry Onyebuchi, Solicitor, Addleshaw Goddard LLP and alumni of Exeter Law School

    Ikenna was called to the Roll of Solicitors in England & Wales in 2024. He built his legal career in commercial law, training and qualifying at Dentons UK and Middle East LLP. He is now a Debt Finance Associate at Addleshaw Goddard LLP, where he continues to develop his expertise and technical knowledge. He is drawn to the intellectual challenge, commercial focus, and fast-paced nature of the field, enjoying the negotiation of key documents, management of stakeholders, and successful completion of complex transactions. At Exeter, Ikenna held a leadership role in the African Caribbean Society and co-founded the Exeter BAME Law Initiative.
