Students, staff, alumni and members of the South West legal community are warmly invited to join us at the University of Exeter on Wednesday 04 November 2026 for a live keynote event with Sam McAlister, best-selling author of ’Scoops’ and executive producer of Netflix’s ’Scoop’.

An Emmy and BAFTA-nominated producer, TEDx speaker, former criminal barrister, and mastermind behind the BBC Prince Andrew interview, Sam McAlister reveals powerful lessons in negotiation, influence, and storytelling. She equips organizations with strategies to win high-stakes conversations and thrive under pressure. Sam McAlister is a master negotiator and the driving force behind some of the most talked-about interviews in modern history. Best known as the woman who secured the BBC’s explosive interview with Prince Andrew, she has also negotiated with global power players from President Clinton and Prime Minister Trudeau to Elon Musk, Sheryl Sandberg, and leaders at Buckingham Palace and the White House.

Sam’s expertise lies in high-stakes negotiation, communication under pressure, and the art of influence, skills that resonate deeply with today’s organizations navigating complex business environments. Her bestselling book ‘Scoops’ was transformed into the Netflix hit ‘Scoop’, for which she served as Executive Producer.
