The Events pages on the University of Exeter website have recently been relaunched. Event listings are now created and updated in T4, our website content management system, which replaces the older IT-managed database.
Although their layout is slightly different, the events pages retain many of the features that they had previously, such as the creation of individual pages for the main event details and the ability to search by date. The calendar at the top can be used to show listings by month, day, week or display a list of all forthcoming events.
Features of the new events pages
- The page URL for events includes the event title, which is optimal for SEO purposes.
- For campus-based events a handy map is automatically embedded in the page, to provide location details.
- Listings can be filtered by events category, such as conferences, employability events and seminars
- Events can be searched for using keywords.
- Administrators can directly tag events to appear in additional relevant department lists via the Events template
Access for Events Administrators
Events administrators on the older databased system have been contacted with information about the new events system and a link to the form to request access to the new T4 based system. A SharePoint guidance site has also been set up.
If you are a staff member that stills need to be added to the new system to add and update events, please fill out the Access for T4 events form
